Stinky Skirt

One of the oddest things about me is that I can't smell or perhaps I should say I can barely smell. I've been this way since I can remember. Revealing this personal factoid about myself is always followed by multiple questions from curious, inquiring individuals. Often my answers to these questions ultimately lead people to the realization that in many ways, not being able to smell is often a blessing rather than a curse.

Take for example the incident a few years back when our first Springer Spaniel, Miles decided to tangle with a skunk that made a shrub in our front yard his new home. Miles got a shot in the face of some pretty potent "skunk juice." My husband was reeling in agony from the stench for at least a week, but I was blissfully unaware of the odorous fumes. Let's face it, most things (apparently) don't smell good.

Well, my skirt for today has a bunch of these stinky skunks on it. While the smell of skunks might be appalling, it's hard not to swoon at these cute critters when they are featured on a silk pleated skirt. The J. Crew collection little skunk skirt was one of many must have pieces for me from J. Crew's spring line. I was happy that I was able to purchase it on sale, plus 30% off. It also arrived in a garment bag, which was icing on the cake. While I can't detect most smells, I do have quite the nose when it comes to bargains.
