Spring Shirt Dress

I love a good shirt dress and also a good print, so as you can imagine, I was head over heels in love with this cute shirt dress from the Gap! I wore this shirt dress a couple of weeks ago on one of the first days that really felt like spring here in California. Speaking of spring, in the background you can probably see just a little bit of pink from the gorgeous trees in the background. I am not exactly sure what type of trees they are but their pink blossoms are such a welcome sight because they officially kick off the spring season here!

To accessorize my printed shirt dress I decided to go with some fun pops of color to bring out the color palette of the dress.  There are so many gorgeous colors in this dress, so it was hard to decide on a bag but I decided to reach for my new Teddy Blake bag to bring out the blue from the print of the dress! I think the light blue color of the bag when combined with the a pop of purple/pink from my shoes also help to make the dress look more spring-like and also to put a spring in my step!

The Perfect Shirtdress

It feels like it was just a little while ago that I was blogging about getting into the swing of my summer vacation routine and now my vacation is ending! With going back to work in person weighing heavily on my mind, I'm also thinking about buying pieces in my wardrobe that are appropriate for work but still colorful, fun and in keeping with my aesthetic! This shirtdress from Zara definitely meets all of those criteria! While I'm usually more of a "J. Crew Girl", lately I've also been buying a few pieces from Zara. The dress I'm wearing here is also available at a fraction of the price from SheIn. While I'm not sure about the quality in comparison to the Zara version, the SheIn version is substantially cheaper and will likely be available for a longer time in case the Zara one sells out!

I actually have seen this shirtdress on quite a few people since buying it last month. One place where it was featured was on the reality TV show Crime Scene Kitchen. (This show was one of my guilty pleasures over the summer because I love both cooking and crime shows, although it had little to do with the latter!) Anyway, one of the contestants on the show wore this dress for the finale. I'm not sure that I would ever bake in this dress but I do think it will make a great dress for teaching or wearing at the office!
