Lilac Dress for Easter

Happy Easter! Last month, I found this lilac dress on a Target run and I knew it was going to be my Easter dress for this year! Due to the empire waist that is very evocative of the Regency period style, it also could double as a costume for a Jane Austen party! While this style of dress is something different than what I normally wear, it was really the color that I was most drawn to. As I have stated numerous times on my blog, purple is my favorite color and for spring I really like soft, pastel shades of purple, such as lilac. While this dress is still in stock at the moment, below I have found some other stunning lilac options if, like me, lilac is your cup of tea!

Because this dress is giving off some major romantic vibes, I thought it would be appropriate to photograph it out in nature! This year, I thought the wildflower crop would be rather pathetic due to how little rain we had in Los Angeles this winter. I was nicely surprised to see that this particular park, which is my secret place to go to for wildflowers, was bursting with yellow, white, and purple flowers in several areas. I actually scouted out this location last week by taking a walk in the area just to see if it would work for photos. In addition to being delighted by the jocund company of so many sprightly flowers, I also encountered a little slithering snake friend on my walk. Well, let's just say that I was very cautious for these photos to not get too close to the flowers because figured the little snake might have much bigger friends hiding out in the midst of all of these blooms!

  2. What a perfect Easter dress! I love the puffed sleeves and the color is just gorgeous. It goes perfectly with your flowers, and good to hear that you didn't encounter any larger slithering friends. :/

I hope you are having a great week so far!

  5. Katie, this is the perfect spring look! And what a gorgeous background in the field of blooms. I love the pairing of lilac and pink and your shoes are so fabulous. I would have freaked out completely if I saw a snake slithering around my feet! I once had one slither right across the top of my feet and I nearly died!
