Retro Valentine

I had a whole slew of outfits planned for the week leading up to Valentine's Day, but we all know what happens to the best laid plans. They go to waste! It just so happens that I was sick for the last week or so and sadly I just couldn't seem to shake the bug. Therefore my vision for outfit posts filled with red, pink, heart and lip prints went right out the window.

My plans for Valentine's Day went right out the window too. One of the unique ideas I had to celebrate Valentine's Day with my husband was to visit Frank Lloyd Wright's Hollyhock house. After three years of renovation it was reopen for 24 hours to the public over the weekend. I had a crazy notion to go there at dusk and watch the sun come up at Barnsdall Park in Hollywood where it is located. Well, between being deadbeat tired after a week of work and being sick, that didn't happen. Valentine's Day ended up consisting of a nice lunch out and some champagne and fondue for dinner. I also managed to squeeze in this one retro inspired, heart themed ensemble for Valentine's Day, so as you can see it wasn't a complete fail!

  3. That look is lovely and I absolutely adore the combination of mint green and red, so the added belt for me is a neat little touch.
