A Predictable Formula

When I laid this ensemble out, I had a moment of déjà vu because, although the skirt was new, the outfit looked familiar. It was then I realized that I had done this combination of a striped shirt, floral skirt and leopard belt countless times before! When I first started blogging, the combination seemed novel, but it's now become part of my routine. It's funny how something like pattern mixing, which at one point seemed like stepping out of my comfort zone, now feels like the most natural thing in the world!

I don't think that relying on a formula is necessarily a bad thing or something that should be discouraged. Plus, it makes dressing in the morning, which can sometimes be very rushed a lot easier. One of my problems is that I tend to buy too many of one thing. For example, I own a countless number of floral skirts and I own the exact same bag featured here in four different colors!  Clearly, if I like something, I stick to it! With summer vacation just around the corner, I know that I'll probably try to mix it up a little bit more with some new styles and pieces that hopefully will push me out of my comfort zone once more. Summer tends to get my creative juices flowing!
