Wild Horses

I've always loved horses, which probably isn't surprising because most girls love horses. I actually used to ride horses when I was younger as well. As you can see from the print on my dress, my affinity for horses has not faded as I've aged! This fun fall dress from Farm Rio is perfect for any equine love or anyone who loves gorgeous prints! If you've seen the Barbie movie, it would also be a print that the Kens would love, as they become obsessed with horses in the movie!

In addition to the horses, I really love the colors found in this print. For that reason, I played on the pink and purple tones found in the print when I accessorized. (Something I think Barbie would definitely do!) If you love this print as much as I do, the good news is that it is available in many items from Farm Rio including a jumpsuit and blouse!

Walk on the Wild Side

While Labor Day is not technically the end of summer, it does symbolically mark the end of the season and the start of fall for many. I always struggle a little bit this time of year with my wardrobe because it is still hot very here in September and sometimes into October (it's been well over 100 degrees every day here this week thanks to a heat wave!), but I want to start wearing more fall fashion. My best tip for making this transition for those of us who live in warm climates is to choose pieces that are still light weight but that have a fall color palette. This tropical Farm Rio skirt from Anthroplogie, which is now on sale, fits this type of transitional dressing in my opinion. It has bright fun colors but the warm tones and shades of brown make it seem appropriate for fall.

The other thing I really love about this skirt, in addition to the colors and its potential to help me transition into fall, is that it has lions hidden in the print! At first I did not see them, but once I discovered them it was essentially what sold me on the skirt! I love anything with animals in the print, so this skirt was a must have for me! Plus, I really love Farm Rio as a brand, as I believe they make fun, colorful, high quality pieces that perfectly suit my style!

Crazy, Colorful Pants!

During the summer months, I wear a lot of dresses and skirts, but every once in a while I like to switch it up and wear pants, especially if they are crazy, colorful pants! I wore these wide leg colorful pants from Farm Rio x Anthropologie last weekend and, although it was very hot out, the flowy style of the pants actually kept me relatively cool! Due to the myriad of colors featured in the print of the pants, I think these could definitely transition into the fall and winter seasons. I would probably swap out the ruffle tee for a chunky knit sweater once the weather gets cooler, which, around here, probably won't be for a while!

You can see how I accessorized my outfit, and I'm back in my orange hat! I featured this hat last week on the blog and it has easily become one of my favorite accessories this summer! Like the pants, I think this hat would be a great transitional piece for the fall season! The orange color is perfect for both summer and fall and it's made from a suede-like material that would also fit in perfectly with my fall and winter wardrobe.

Rainbow Pom Pom Sweater

It's no secret that I love all things rainbow! I also love sweaters with pom poms! So, when you put the two together, it's a winner, in my book! As you can imagine, I was thrilled when I discovered this rainbow pom pom sweater from Farm Rio! It's pretty much everything I could ask for in a sweater! My husband asked me if I already had a similar sweater and my answer was both yes and no. Yes, I do have a short sleeved sweater from Kate Spade that also has colorful pom poms on it but it's very lightweight and I only wear it in the spring. This sweater, on the other hand, is perfect for winter!

Speaking of winter, I think this might be my last post featuring a winter outfit, as we are moving into the month of March this week and spring is right around the corner. Obviously, this time of year is perfect for snatching up sweaters, coats and other cold weather items on sale but I think my upcoming posts will focus more on looking ahead to spring! The weather here has been all over the place with some very cool days (one day this week it was in the 30s when I got up!) while some days are in the 90s, which, obviously, makes dressing difficult. While I enjoy the cooler weather, I am definitely looking forward to spring fashion!

Wild Hearts

I took a little break from blogging recently, but I'm back, feeling refreshed, and bursting with color! Last weekend, I was finally able to get out and enjoy some things around the city. This included a trip to the Arts District in Los Angeles, which is a vibrant section of the city with lots of small shops, restaurants and, of course, colorful murals! Originally, I wanted to see some of the new crochet murals by artist London Kaye in this area. Unfortunately, the mural I wanted to take photographs by was largely torn down and there was a impromptu band that had set up to play music by it! Luckily, I spied this heart mural from afar and it was the perfect match for this colorful Farm Rio leopard print cardigan that I am featuring in today's post! I actually like this backdrop a lot more than the original one I had planned, so it all worked out in the end.

I am trying to discover new brands lately and one that I really love is Farm Rio, which is where this cardigan is from. I love the wild, colorful print of this sweater and the cozy oversized fit! All of Farm Rio's clothing is quite colorful and fun, so I hope to buy some more pieces from them in the future. If I do get any more pieces from them, it will also provide me with another excuse to venture into the Arts District to stumble upon another fun and funky wall there! After all, there's always something new to discover in Los Angeles!
