Break Out the Sequins!

There are so many things to love about the holidays, but one of the things that I enjoy most about the season, at least in terms of fashion, is being able to wear luxurious fabrics like velvet, sequins, and everything else that shines and sparkles! Truth be told, I have quite a few sequin skirts already hanging up in my closet, but every year I seem to manage to add just one more to the collection! This year, my new addition is this brown and pink striped skirt. To be fair, it is different from many of the sequin skirts that I already own, and it was on sale, so I don't feel too guilty about purchasing it!

On the J. Crew website, I think they paired this skirt with a classic chambray button-down, and I initially considered that as an option for how to style the skirt. I also considered the possibility of pairing this skirt with a white button-down shirt as well. Ironically, even though it was fairly, hot I decided to opt for a pink sweater for a pop of color. After I started sweating a tiny bit, I regretted my decision a little, but, overall, I do love the way the outfit turned out! Keep in mind that I'm not the most practical person when it comes to dressing (I probably own a million sequin skirts, after all!), so feeling a little uncomfortable now and then due to my outfit has ceased to bother me much!

  1. I do like wearing velvet in the winter months but do not have much in the way of sparkly. Haven't been to a Christmas party or anywhere fancy in ages! As in many many years!

  5. It is a lovely skirt, Katie! I love the striped sequins making it a super unique piece. It looks so great with the pink sweater! And I bet it would look equally great with a chambray or white button down. Thanks for sharing and linking with me!
