There's nothing I love better than something that's a classic but with a twist! Take, for example, this super soft fair isle sweater, which from far away looks like your everyday, ordinary sweater but, upon closer inspection, has a sparkly surprise! The collar of the sweater is embroidered with shimmering sequins (I know, more sequins!), which makes it a fun spin on a winter staple. One of the other things that I love about this sweater is the color combination: the mint and yellow is a somewhat unexpected pairing but I think it totally works!
Speaking of unexpected pairings, I would normally pair this sweater with a pair of jeans, maybe even white jeans, but I was feeling a little "extra" on the day I put this sweater together so I opted for a silver pleated skirt. I liked how it played off of the shimmer of the sequins and also gave a kind of cool winter feel to the entire look. Apparently, I wasn't the only one who like the pairing because, when I was walking down the street, a woman rolled down her window to share with me how much she liked my look. I guess whenever strangers stop you for compliments, especially ones that require yelling out the window of a moving car, you know you have a winner!
