Picnic Ready

Over spring break, I purchased this watermelon sweater and it was love at first sight! I have novelty sweaters with everything from chickens to lemons, so why not add one more with a watermelon? Watermelon is probably one of my favorite fruits to not only eat but also to wear! As you can see, I already have a straw watermelon bag, which ended up as the perfect complement to my sweater. At first I thought it might be too much but you can never really have too much watermelon!

Speaking of things that complement one another, this skirt ended up pairing perfectly with the sweater too! I've had this grid skirt for quite some time now but it's one of those pieces that I find myself going back to over and over again because it looks great with so many things. I thought the oversized grid or gingham pattern was reminiscent of a picnic tablecloth, so it paired perfectly, thematically speaking, with my watermelon items. After all, who doesn't love watermelons on a picnic?
