Mod Floral

A couple of weeks ago I hit the "mother load" at the J. Crew Factory store! I think I bought about six pieces, including this dress, all for around $100. Currently, this shift dress is on sale online and there is also a skirt version in the same print on clearance here for a steal. I am always a fan of anything in a fun, floral print for spring. Actually, I wore the dress for the day before Easter. I guess I was getting somewhat of a jump start on the holiday.

As of late, the bougainvillea has been out in full force in Los Angeles. I've been on the look out for it in our neighborhood and nearby areas for the perfect blog photos. Unfortunately, on the day that I took these photos, it was noon and rather sunny, so the lighting in this particular location was less than ideal. A few of the pictures, however, were salvageable, and made it into this post.

Regarding the styling of this dress, I decided to go for a sort of "mod squad" look by layering a striped black and white long sleeve tee underneath. In the future, I would definitely consider wearing it by itself or with a denim jacket. Like the bougainvillea this time of year in Los Angeles, which seems to be everywhere, the possibilities for the dress are also endless!

  1. Such a gorgeous dress - brilliant colours - and it goes really well with the striped top! Kx

  2. That is such a gorgeous dress. It is a steal for 50 bucks and I need it. Too bad I don't have a J.Crew Factory nearby. Even my J.Crew close to me closed down =( You got a steal on several pieces.

Did you try on/buy/like any of the VBxTarget dresses?!

  3. This is such a beautiful dress. I love the bright colors and those flowers are perfect! I love the stripes and the shoes you paired it with!

  4. I love the way you styled this Katie! Never would have thought to layer this dress over stripes!

Say hello to Hello Katie! I would love to hear from you!
