I've seen quite a few bloggers and Instagramers take fun and fabulous photos at this location, so I thought I would give it a try. After my first visit, I thought that perhaps the wind was just an anomaly, but my second visit proved that to be wrong. The winds were just as strong on the second visit and the proof of this is in the picture above (actually, all the pictures!), which features some seriously bad hair! How the other bloggers got such fantastic pictures, I'll never know but I think mine, at least, have a lot of personality!
Speaking of personality, I decided to edit these pictures using a vintage filter for some nostalgic flair. The filter and subject matter make the photos look they came straight out of someones photo album from the 1960s. My campy western shirt from Zara also adds to the vintage vibe. All of this 60s nostalgia is quite fitting because the Dinosaurs of Cabazon actually started in the 1960s with the creation of Dinny the Dinosaur (he's the brontosaurus) who was then followed by the T-Rex, who they call "Mr. Rex", in the 1980s. Since then, these dinos have become quite famous, appearing in movies like Pee Wee's Big Adventure and various music videos.

Love the new colorful banner Katie. And these photos with all the Jurassic winds do have personality. Look at that huge dino. I love the t-shirt, perfect for this particular desert-like location.

Oh wow what a fun spot! I've never heard of this or seen it before, definitely makes an interesting backdrop for photos :) I can see the retro vibe, you're right the editing helps it as well :) Don't worry about the wind either - happens to us all, long hair and windy don't always work nicely together.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a wonderful weekend :)
