Seaside in San Diego

San Diego is one of my favorite places for a quick vacation, but when you have to go there for work it can sort of put a damper on the experience. This was the case in my latest San Diego excursion in which my mission was not to sit beach side sipping a margarita or take in some sights, but rather to attend a three day conference. However, I didn't let the work aspect of my journey deter me from having a little fun...and a little bit of margarita in the evenings!

On our way down to San Diego we took a scenic tour of the harbor. In true Hello Katie Girl fashion, I dressed in such a way that my ensemble and the location were thematically linked. In this case, I am wearing my octopus, or as it's officially called, the "Marine Mural", dress from Anthropologie to complement the seaside local. I also took on the trip my fish patterned skirt and my photorealistic beach skirt from Boden (sorry, no pics) that I wore to my meetings. Just because you're at work doesn't mean you can't have fun with the way you dress!

It was very windy when we were taking these pictures and as you can see I am still trying to figure out how to cope with gusts of wind. I figured the "I am running my fingers through my hair and trying to prevent it from blowing all over the place" look would suit the situation.

    1. Thank you Kim! I bet you could pull off theme dressing! Sometimes you can do it in subtle ways with just a piece of jewelry or a particular color scheme. Anyway, I hope you had a great weekend!

    1. Thank you Jessica! I love bright colors all year round, but I am definitely still in summer mode as it is so hot here in California.
