Grunge Flannel Chic

I always have my eyes peeled for fashion inspiration. A few weeks ago I saw a guy wearing a shirt such as the one I am sporting today and thought, "I would totally rock that type of shirt with a leather skirt." Well, after this inspiration popped into my mind I later found this yellow and black flannel shirt on the Forever 21 website and when they finally had a free shipping promo I ordered it. Today I paired it with the leather skirt I got last year off eBay to complete my vision.

I kind of feel today's look is a throwback, although a chic throwback, to the 90s, when flannel ruled and grunge was all the rage. I was a big fan of flannel and grunge for a brief period in those less fashionable days. I am glad that my style has evolved quite a bit since then, although I am still somewhat a fan of the music. I guess some things you never grow out of!

    Oh Katie, you did it again. I'd wear this outfit head to toe. I love every single piece, especially the top, skirt and glasses. You look smashing or grunge-hot!
