Pastel Palms

What do people think of when they imagine the city of  Los Angeles? Probably celebrities, palm trees and sunshine among other things pop into their heads. There certainly are a lot of all of the above out here, especially palm trees which line many a street in the city. After living in L.A. for a little while you sort of stop noticing them and they blend into the background.

My top from Forever 21 brings palm trees into the foreground with shades of pastels. When I saw this top I was drawn to the print and the color scheme. It seemed like the perfect blouse for someone living in L.A. to wear on a sunny day and it has sort of an 80s vibe to it too. I paired it with a J. Crew no. 2 pencil skirt in black for more of a "classic" look. Driving around L.A. today and listening to some 80s music I couldn't think of a better blouse to wear for the occasion!

In keeping with the palm trees theme, I thought it might be fun to photograph some of the palms in my neighborhood.  On my walk today with William I brought the camera along and snapped a few pictures. I think they turned out pretty well considering I had to juggle a camera, "waste disposal" bag which had waste in it at the time if you catch my drift, and William pulling on his leash!
