Leaves of Grass

When I was younger, much younger, Easter was always the time to don a shinny new dress and perhaps even a new pair of patent leather shoes. Perhaps this tradition has gone by the wayside, but I like tradition, so I wore a new dress yesterday for the holiday. The Tracey Reese "Revised Impressionist Dress" has been hanging in my closet for a little while and due to its pattern consisting of bright flowers and surreal looking blades of grass, I thought it was perfect for Easter. Many family members even likened it to Renoir, which sparked a fierce debate about the pronunciation of the "r" in this impressionist's name.

You may notice my pink Louboutins, which I wore for a little bit, but quickly ditched in favor of a pair of Puma sneakers for our annual Easter egg hunt. I won the hunt, which is five years in a row now, much to the chagrin of the previous reigning champ, my husband. There's talk about making me do it next year in 4 inch heels, just to give everyone else a fighting chance. I think I would still win though!

My Breguet  Reine de Naples is the perfect egg shaped watch for Easter and a rousing Easter egg hunt, although I did take it off for the hunt due to my desire not to mar the satin strap on a rose bush thorn or other impediment.

More matching outfit stories! This is another reason why perhaps it is good to be an only child, which I am.
