Take a Bow

I was ecstatic when my J. Crew bow coat in vibrant fuchsia arrived last week. I was even more ecstatic about the price which was relatively low due to being able to double up  on two J. Crew promos. Two weeks ago J. Crew had a 25% off of outerwear promo which ended and was switched to a promo for 30% off your total purchase. I ordered the coat when they were in the midst of switching the promotion on the website and was able to get both promos applied to the coat. Yippee!

Even though I fell in love with this coat when I first spied it in the catalog, I was hesitant to purchase it due to the fact that it isn't every exactly cold here in Los Angeles. Plus, I have more coats than I know what do with after living most of my life on the East Coast. Despite this logic the coat was too cute to pass up and the price made it irresistible. Therefore my irrational side bought it thinking I would find various places to wear it this winter.

Today's overcast weather and "cold" temperature provided one such perfect opportunity for debuting my new coat. Here are some thoughts about the coat in case you would like to add it to your closet. First, the thing I like about the coat, which others in colder climates might not, is that the wool is light to medium weight and not too heavy. For sizing I took a size 0 which is what I usually wear in J. Crew shirts and blazers. I was afraid that taking a 0 would make it difficult to wear a sweater underneath, but as you can see from the pictures there is plenty of room for layers. Last of all the bright pink color made me feel cheery and upbeat all day long. I would also like this coat in the neutral camel color, but as I said before, I probably don't need another coat!
