Restyling my Favorite Skirts from Summer

I think it's safe to say that I love skirts more than any other article of clothing! I certainly have a lot of skirts in my closet and I certainly bought quite a few this summer to add to my collection! In this post I am remixing my styling of two of my favorite skirts from this summer (it was hard choosing just two!), starting with this colorful, pleated striped skirt from Target.

I didn't change the styling of this skirt up drastically but I did tweak it just a little bit from my original post, Flamingos, Stripes, and Paint Splats. For example, I decided to still wear a statement tee with the skirt but instead of a flamingo one, I went for one that would bring out the yellow stripes of the skirt for a little bit more pop. I also opted for these blue slides (also from Target) and a leopard print clutch. As you can see, the look isn't a complete makeover but it's been kicked up a little bit with more color because you can always use more color! When we finally get cooler weather in a few months, I'm sure I will find a different way to style the skirt yet again!

The next skirt that I'm restyling is my Sunbathers skirt from Anthropologie. The goods news is that this skirt is currently on sale and there's an extra 25% off, making it quite a bargain! This skirt is one of my favorites because of the adorable print, which I fell in love with as soon as I saw it at my local Anthro store.

Much like with the first skirt in this post, I only made a few alterations to how I styled this Sunbathers skirt. When I first wore it in my post entitled Sunbathers, I was going out to dinner, so I added a more dressy top to fit the occasion. Here, once again, I added a statement tee (perhaps you're sensing a trend!) for a casual, comfy look. I also went with straw flats and a straw bag this time around to play up the beachy feel of the skirt. I like the fact that the skirt features women basking in the sun but my statement tee reads "Made in the Shade"; it's a contradiction, for sure, but at least the colors complement one another!

  2. Oh, yes! I'm a skirt girl, myself. Your restyles are great. I adore all of the elements you've put together. The striped Target skirt was a good find. I did *not* see it at our Target this summer (or dress in the same stripe). Boo hoo--ha, ha!

  5. Both skirts are beautiful in their own right. I love that you wore a brighter colored shirt for both and it compliments your skirts nicely.
