Rainbow on Rainbow

Lately, I have been dressing pretty casual due to the heat and also the fact that people are pretty much viewing me from the shoulders up on Zoom! This outfit is a great example of what I like to wear on a regular basis, which as you can see is casual but still colorful and fun. In fact, this is what I wore to go to Costco last week. The rainbow top I am wearing is from J. Crew Factory and it's on major sale right now! It also comes in a skirt and a dress, so you know I had to spring for all three given the amazing prices! The rainbow stripes of the fabric are also the perfect complement to my rainbow Michael Kors bag. In my opinion, you can never have too many rainbows!

On my way to Costco, I spotted this amazing wall of flowers, which I figured would make for a pretty background for my casual outfit. Oftentimes, I don't really have an idea of where I want to take photos, even if I am planning on taking some for a post, but sometimes that works out better than having a plan. While I am normally a planner when it comes to many things in life, it's nice to also let things happen organically.

Rainbows x 2

In my opinion, you can never have too many rainbows! For this reason, I'm doubling down on rainbows with today's outfit that is comprised of a rainbow striped tee shirt dress and my trusty rainbow bag! I recently purchased this dress last week at J. Crew and I was very happy to have snagged it for a great price! While I know this is a summer dress and I should be featuring things for fall by now on my blog, it was over 100 degrees this weekend, so I think that should give me a pass! Also, there are a lot of great deals out there on summer clothing, so why not celebrate that before moving on to fall?

I debated whether or not to pair my dress with my rainbow bag or to take a subtler route (as if such a thing can exist with anything rainbow!) and opt for a yellow or pink bag. In the end, however, I figured why not go big or go home?  This rainbow bag, which I purchased during the summer, has quickly become one of my favorite bags because it always puts a smile on my face! So, if one rainbow item can do that, clearly two means double the smiles and double the happiness!

Two Way Tuesday: Rainbow Bag

It's been quite a long time since I've done my "Two Way Tuesday" posts on the blog, however, I am bringing it back with style and with color (lots of color!) by featuring this rainbow crossbody bag
styled two different ways. This rainbow bag was a recent purchase and I must say that when I found it, I felt like the bag was meant for me and my wall hunting adventures!

Indeed, both looks here featuring this bag have two things in common: the first is the aforementioned colorful walls that I am using as a background and the second is pairing the bag with an article of clothing that is also rainbow patterned or colored for double the rainbow and double the impact of color! I guess you can never have too many rainbows! In this first look, the additional rainbow item comes in the form of this colorful knitted top, which I have featured several times before on my blog. To be honest, when I bought the top, I wasn't sure if I would wear it much but it turned out to be a great buy!

The second look that I paired with this bag also has a lot of color! I purchased this tee, featuring various paint samples in a rainbow of colors, last month from Anthropologie during one of their summer tag sales. The striped skirt is also from Anthropologie and was purchased last summer around this time. (As you can see, I really like to shop at Anthropologie during their tag sales!)

I suppose the one thing that is different about this outfit in comparison to the first is the addition of a hat. I'm not a huge hat person but I was attracted to the bright yellow band on this particular hat from J. Crew. I was also quite excited to learn that, according to my husband who knows stuff like this, the hat is actually a genuine Panama hat woven in Ecuador! The color of the band goes with quite a bit in my wardrobe but what doesn't go with at least one color from the rainbow? I guess one of the perks of rainbow prints and bags is that they really can go with anything!
