Dolman Dress

Nothing quite makes a statement like a dress with dolman sleeves! If you've never heard the term before, dolman sleeves are big voluminous sleeves, which are sometimes referred to as "batwing" sleeves. While I don't have a ton of dresses or blouse with this type of sleeve, I fell in love with this particular dolman dress because of the fun silhouette, not to mention the colorful print. Plus, it was pretty deeply discounted, which allowed me to experiment a little bit and try something new! (Never underestimate the power of a good sale to get you to buy something that is out of your comfort zone!)

There's usually one or two things (good or bad!) that I remember about each photo shoot we do. In this instance, two things stand out. The first is that it was over 100 degrees when we took these photos last weekend, despite it being before noon. Luckily, the dress is made out of a light cotton fabric so it was fairly comfortable but, honestly, what's comfortable when it's that hot out? Second, a man in a truck stopped to stare at us while my husband was taking these pictures of me. Once he saw that I was looking at him, he sped away but it was still a little strange. It's not like I have a team with me and professional lighting or anything but I guess this isn't exactly an area where a lot of bloggers go to take pictures! (On second thought, perhaps he was just a fan of dolman dresses?)
