I See Your True Primary Colors

Before I discuss the outfit I am wearing in today, let me just point out that the title of this post is an allusion to the Cyndi Lauper song "True Colors". (We actually saw her preform last weekend at the Hollywood Bowl, which is where the inspiration came from!) The title is also a nod to the Mondrain inspired wall I am standing in front of, which utilizes mostly primary colors. Speaking of which, I have been getting a lot of use out of this yellow eyelet dress this summer, which is on super sale right now at the J. Crew Factory! I first wore the dress in this post from last month but I wore a denim jacket over it so it didn't really get it's moment in the spotlight. For this post, I wanted the dress to be the star!

While my intent was to make the dress the star of the outfit, my watermelon bag and polka dot sandals might be trying to steal the show! Whenever I wear these items, I always get a lot of compliments on them, especially the purse! Also, the aforementioned wall behind me is a bit of an attention grabber as well. Some quick information about it: it's located on the side of an Art Store here in L.A. and every time I have tried to do a photo shoot at the wall the lighting has been terrible. On this day, however, it was cloudy and overcast so I didn't have to deal with weird shadows. It was as if the wall gods were smiling down on me!
