It's All French/Italian to Me!

Foreign languages were never my strong suit. I took Spanish in high school and it was my worst subject. As an adult, I find that I'm not much better with foreign languages. A case in point is the story behind this red and white striped tee. I was trying the tee on after it arrived in the mail and my husband commented that I have an awful lot of shirts with words on them. (I also, have too many striped shirts but that's another matter!) Anyway, he asked me what the shirt said and I remarked that it was something in French. I then wore the shirt to work the next day and yet again my husband asked me if I had to bothered to look up the meaning of the words scrawled across the shirt, which, of course, I hadn't.  I started thinking that maybe I should have done that just in case it said something bad! Well, when I got home, I finally looked it up only to realize that it isn't French at all but, rather, Italian. Oops! Well, in case you were wondering, the shirt says "love is blind"!

Well, I want to say that the style of the shirt with the boat neck and the red and white stripes is very Parisian. On second thought, though, it does look very much like what a gondolier might wear in Venice, so I suppose it could very easily be either French or Italian. Regardless, both countries are fantastic and definitely have some pretty amazing clothing and cuisine. I've been been to both countries before but it's quite clear that I didn't master very much of the language during my visits! Perhaps that's something that I can work on next time I take a trip to either country!

  2. I love they way Parisian women dress. I found out through a DNA test that I'm genetically French so I'm way too excited about that. Italian fashion is sharp and visiting Milan and seeing the ladies there is draw dropping. Your French inspired look is bellissimo! xx Maria
