I can't believe it's now May and I'm back in sweaters and sweatshirts again! The weather has truly been all over the place lately in Los Angeles. Yesterday, I knew it was going to be on the cooler side but I hadn't anticipated rain! I had already strapped on these gorgeous new pom pom suede shoes just as I noticed the pitter patter of rain outside! Well, I had to go back and throw on something that could get wet, so I opted for a simple pair of white sneakers with this outfit for work and changed into these suede shoes for the blog because I really wanted to show them off. These suede shoes just might be my new favorite pair of shoes, at least for the week! (I've been buying a lot of shoes lately!) My favorite thing about these shoes is, obviously, the colorful suede pom poms that top them off. These colorful pom poms remind me of a Koosh ball, which you probably remember if you were around in the 1990s.
To go along with the title "Color and Clouds" on this very cloudy and rainy day I'm also wearing one of my favorite sweatshirts from last year from J. Crew. I love how it has all of the colors written in French on it. It makes it any outfit a little quirky and fun and it also goes with everything because of all of the colors. It was just the thing to pair with my new red dot skirt from Forever 21. So, as you can see, I am combating the clouds and rain with a healthy dose of color!
Last of all, I just barely beat the rain in taking these photos! Usually, my husband takes photos of me and what I wear to work at the end of the day and this was, predictably, one of those occasions. It had been raining on and off all day and I hoped that there might be a slight break in the clouds that would give my husband and I just enough time to take a few photos before a downpour. Well, just as we were finishing taking the photos, it started to sprinkle and I said, "Quick! Take a picture of the shoes!" Thankfully, Mother Nature, recognizing that the shoes were clearly the star of the outfit, allowed us to get in a few extra pictures of the colorful shoes before she commenced the downpour once again!

ReplyDeleteIt's the same here in England. I have run out of kindling for the fire - I'll have to start collecting more from the garden again! Longing for some warmth from the sun. Your sweat top looks cozy tho' Katie! xx
