Colorful Squares

This colorful gingham top is hot out of the J. Crew Factory store! In fact, I just bought it yesterday! Truly, this is quite the accomplishment for me because usually stuff sits in my closet for a while before I get around to blogging about it. (I guess this just shows how excited I am about the top!) Originally, I was thinking about buying the short-sleeve button-down version of the gingham top, which you can find here, but I was instantly smitten with the sleeveless shell version. Plus, the shell version was discounted at 60% off in-store, which was just too tempting to say no to.

I paired this top with another new arrival to my closet, or shall I say jewelry box, which is this red J. Crew Honeymoon Tassel necklace. Could someone please explain to me why it's called a honeymoon necklace? I actually wore this ensemble to a family BBQ, which is the antithesis of a honeymoon! Regardless, the necklace was a hit with family members and I was grateful that my husband took a few photos of me beforehand. After almost 10 years of marriage, everyday might not always be a honeymoon, but I am sure thankful we have each other and that we put up with each other, be it in the form of familial obligations or my devotion to blogging!
