Rainbows and Pineapples à la mode

When I bought this pineapple maxi skirt last summer from Ann Taylor I thought that it would be strictly for spring/summer. Much like a guest who has overstayed his or her welcome and then is presented with a pineapple as a sign that it's time to go, I assumed this this skirt would be relegated to the depths of my closet for fall and winter and only invited back to my wardrobe rotation once spring had sprung. However, inspiration struck when I came across a picture of a blogger who styled this skirt with a graphic sweatshirt and sneakers. Since I had all of these pieces in my wardrobe already, it was easy to assemble the look, make it my own, and thus find a way to make pineapples perfect for fall!

As always, I had to add a colorful stamp to my version of the look. I was so excited when this Milly rainbow clutch recently came back in stock. My husband says it's impractical, but kudos to the designer for making it exactly the size of my iPhone 6 Plus and case, thus proving my husband wrong! (Well, maybe he's not entirely wrong, as my wallet doesn't come close to fitting it it, but a few cards and a phone are all a girl really needs anyway!) I also added these turquoise sneakers that I just love because they are so much more comfortable than heels. I also bought them in a paint splatter print, which I wore in a post from last week for Halloween, which you'll find here. So, this look truly has it all, including pineapples, color, comfort and rainbows. Who could ask for anything more?
