When I lived in New York years ago, my wardrobe fell very neatly into distinct seasonal categories. Most pieces within my wardrobe were reserved for either Spring/Summer or Fall/Winter. When one season ended and a new began, the pieces from the previous season were put away and didn't see the light of day for months on end. Now I am much more flexible and adaptive with my wardrobe in so far as I try to find ways to transition pieces from one season to the next. I am not sure if my approach towards seasonal dressing is a result of me now living Los Angeles where the seasons are more or less indistinguishable from one another or if I'm just evolving as a "fashionista" and getting more creative with what I wear, but it is nice to find ways to wear pieces all year round.
The skirt above was perfect for summer with its floral print and bright summery colors, however, the navy background makes it very adaptable for winter. With the addition of some boots, tights, a leather jacket and a light sweater, it's perfect for cool fall mornings and chilly evenings.
The sweater I am wearing on this pleasantly cool afternoon is from Target. In my opinion, Target always seems to be at the top of its game for the holidays by churning out apparel that closely resembles the likes of stores such as J. Crew, especially in the sweater department. Unfortunately, the quality is not always up to par, as one of the "jewels" in this sweater fell out the first time I wore it. I cringe at writing this because my husband told me that the last thing I needed was another bedazzled sweater, so I am going to have to confess that perhaps just this one time, he was right!

I really like how you transitioned the skirt into fall! Love the jacket & bag!
ReplyDeleteI reserve about half of my clothes strictly for Spring/Summer or Fall/Winter. The rest are fair game.
ReplyDeleteYour gorgeous skirt transitioned so well. I want that bedazzled sweater, maybe in light pink or ivory. Too bad about the stone. A little trick I use is to apply clear nail polish on the jewels before wearing that item.
OH! I love love love your jacket and floral skirt! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice change to see COLOR this time of year! Love that clutch, too :)

YES! I love floral on a dark background, definitely makes changing it between the seasons so doable! Love this outfit, the color of the sweater is gorgeous on you! You look great! Have a wonderful weekend gorgeous friend! XO -Kim
ReplyDeleteGreat transition of the skirt and what a bummer about your sweater! I bought a jeweled sweater years ago from the Limited and was concern about the jewels falling out and it still hasn't to this day.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining TBT Fashion link up and hope to see you next week. Have a great weekend!
