Waiting Patiently for Polynesian Floral

Sometimes I get a little obsessed with certain pieces or prints from my favorite designers.  A few months ago when J. Crew released new arrivals for spring I became infatuated with this Polynesian floral shell with its orange embellishments. I knew this article of clothing would find its way into my closet eventually, but I wasn't going to pay retail for it. So like the "smart" shopper I am, I waited for a sale to make my move. When the top initially went on sale online I thought I could do better in regard to the price. J. Crew's first markdowns aren't always that good and also it pays to shop for most items in store as opposed to online because the prices are better and I can double down on clearance items with my educator's discount. Given this, I continued to patiently wait.

After "stalking" this top for what seemed like an eternity, I finally decided to bite the bullet by calling around to some stores in order to make it my own. I was lucky to locate the Polynesian floral shell at a store not too far from me in my size, and thus made a little sojourn to get it. It was the only one in the entire store that day, it fit perfectly and to "top it off" it ended up being just $29. Now that's fate! Plus, I found a couple of other pieces that I was looking for at amazing prices. As I always say (at least when it suits me), good things come to those who wait!

  3. $29 is NOT a bad price for a J. Crew shirt and that top is just gorgeous! I love the print and bright colors on it! It goes great with that skirt.

    1. Yes, I was quite happy with the $29 price compared to the retail price that was close to $100. It definitely pays to shop around a little or to wait for the best price.
