Topping it Off

The last couple of posts have found me donning a jacket, which is unusual for me in the spring. Usually the temperature here starts making its way up to summer worthy records this time of the year, but this spring is more mild than any I can remember in Southern California. Given this, I didn't think I would get much use out of this stripe "topper" (as they call it) from Nordstom until next winter, but it's actually come in handy. The weight of the jacket is light, which some might take issue with, but it's just perfect to throw over for protection from blustery winds and cooler temps in the morning and evening. (It should be noted that I am more prone to getting cold than others, although in all fairness, I have seen many Angelenos in flannel parkas and overcoats the last few weeks!)

Underneath my topper/coat I am wearing somewhat of a deco inspired print top and, of all things, a white pleated pleather skirt. I never thought I would see the day when I would wear white pleather; it sounds like something a groupy in a White Snake video would wear, but, on the contrary, it is quite chic! I instantly fell in love with the skirt at Zara when I tried it on. The only drawback is that it is prone to some creasing due to the pleats and material.  However, I have never been one for practical clothing, or practical anything for that matter!
