The Curse of Target

My blouse for today is from, you guessed it, Target. Years ago when I was growing up on the East Coast, Targets were nonexistent. So when I traveled across the country to go to college in California (where Targets are aplenty), Target was like a veritable Garden of Eden with all sorts of delights to behold. From trendy clothes at affordable prices to colorful dorm decorations to midnight snacks, it was easy to spend hours in the store. Not only did the shopping excursions there eat up hours, it was impossible not to come out with a basket full of stuff, much of which you don't really need, thus eating a hole in your wallet as well.

Some things never change. Last month I was in line at Target and my favorite checker asked me if I found everything I needed. "Yes" I responded, "and then some!" To which the checker told me, "Well, that's the curse of Target." And indeed it is. My blouse today, with its flowers and lovely hues, was too cute to pass up. If leaving with one or maybe two extra things in my cart at Target is a curse, then I am guilty as charged!

  3. Found your blog through A Labour Of Life. I love your shoes. They are adorable! Targets are not quite as good in Australia as they are in the US but I did buy three tops from them this year which is the first thing i have bought from there for 20 years so things are looking up! I'm hosting a link up this week, stop by if you have a chance :)

    1. It's interesting that Targets are not the same in different countries. Maybe they'll eventually improve in Australia? Thank you for letting me know about your link up. I'll be sure to stop by next week!
