Spotted

I'd like to say I spotted this "Abstract Animal" print dress at LOFT before anyone else. Well, maybe not anyone else, but when it first came out I did think, "That's a cool dress, I might buy that down the road if it goes on sale".  So being thrifty and perpetually "late to the party", so to speak, I sat on my haunches and waited for a good sale. In the meantime the dress started cropping up on everyone's blog. In claiming that I saw it first, I kind of feel like one of those people that swear that they liked a band before they made it "big" and everyone else started to like them, but we all know those people are usually just being pretentious.

Well, who cares if seemingly a million people have blogged about this dress before and that I am not the first? Honestly, I can see why so many people are drawn to it because of how comfy and versatile it is, although it's just a bit short in my opinion, which is nothing that a pair of opaque stockings can't fix. It also fits a smidge large, so size down if you are interested in jumping on the bandwagon like I did!

Speaking of being spotted, I decided to wear my husband's Patek Philippe watch today. I put it on and thought that he would delight in me sporting something of his, but he kind of freaked out when he spotted it on me. I think it's quite becoming, though, and it fits into the "oversized" women's watch trend that's been going on for some time now. It is also is reminiscent of an incident you will learn about if you watch a bio on J. D. Salinger. He wrote a story about a girl wearing an oversized men's watch, which eventually led to him meeting one of his very young girlfriends with whom he lived with in his reclusive retreat in New Hampshire for quite some time, but as usual I digress. Anyway, you can spot a glimpse of me in my husband's watch below.

  1. This dress is so cute. I wanted to love it but drop waist just does not work for me. I like how you styled it with the pretty jeweled collar underneath.
