Inspired by Me

When I was a teenager, and even in college, my inspiration for my wardrobe came from the pages of fashion magazines and catalogs. The problem is that the latest issue of Vogue isn't all that relatable to the average woman in terms of both the practicality of the items they feature and the price point. (A girl can dream though!) Now that we have the Internet, there are other sources to turn to. I think that's why so many women flock to blogs, Pinterest and various social media sites that feature individuals' personal style. You can get a little peek into how real people dress and put together an outfit in real life.

Like many picture-obsessed people, Pinterest is one way that I like to keep track of all these looks. I can quickly go back and find a picture for inspiration at a moment's notice; easy inspiration at the tip of your fingers! The funny thing is that I started finding pictures of myself from my blog on Pinterest. One such item was this "Tuileries" dress from Anthropologie. Although the person who pinned this dress did so on a gardening/horticulture board, so I suppose it was a different type of inspiration. Well, when I saw the pin, I was moved to dig the dress out of my closet. It's such a pretty dress and all I needed was a little inspiration, courtesy of myself, to get it out again!
