A Scattering of Dots and a Smattering of Resolutions

I kind of look like a Dalmatian today with all the spots and the pop of red, but that's okay because Dalmatians are pretty cute in my book. Why should animals have all the fun when it comes to exquisite and beautiful patterns?

I also kind of feel like a broken record, but one of my goals for 2014 is to experiment more with my wardrobe, mix it up and find new ways to wear old things, also known as "shopping your closet". I say this every year, but it's good to keep reminding yourself of things, sort of like a mantra. Repeat after me: "You need not purchase any more clothes, handbags, and shoes. Your closet is full and suffocating!"

I tried to put this goal in action by wearing my spotted shift dress which I had to have last year even though I knew it was too short to wear to work and therefore impractical. Maybe not buying impractical things should also be on my list? (If that's the case I probably shouldn't have purchased that tulle ballerina skirt last month!) Anyway, pairing the dress with some black opaque tights made me feel a bit more modest, and the sparkly collar of the J. Crew Tilda top added a layer of something different underneath.

So those are my fashion related resolutions. I would also like to do things that I am guessing many other people are aiming to do for the New Year, but here are a few: cook more, explore more places in LA and get them crossed off my to do list, write more thank you cards and correspond more in general, learn more about subjects I don't know about, be more positive, watch black and white movies, use up food before it goes bad and starts growing a beard, find more time to read like I am Herold Bloom, and last of all be more organized in all aspects of my life. Let's see how all of that goes!

    1. Thanks Lisa! I saw something similar on another blog and thought I would give it a try. I love how you can layer the "Tilda" top with just about anything.
