Hello Katie Girl: Geo Jewel Tone

Since purple is my favorite color I was instantly attracted to the J. Crew popover in Ratti Geo print. I like the combination of purple on red, and it fits in perfectly with the rich jewel tone color schemes which are everywhere this winter. I also threw on a purple velvet blazer just to be a little fancy. Purple, being an archetypal symbol of royalty, just has a way of making you feel so regal!

I lusted after the Ratti popover top since the moment it came out. I ended up buying it during one of the numerous extra 30% off your total purchase promotions featured by J. Crew this season. I heard on the news last month that retailers, in anticipation of a lucrative Christmas season, ordered too much inventory and therefore the sales would be really good this year. In support of this prediction, it does seem like J. Crew and other retailers have offered a consist amount of generous discounts and sales. Anyway, the one thing that drove me nuts about this top is that it showed up as being sold out multiple times on the J. Crew website, only to be fully in stock in all sizes the next day. What's up with that?

My review of this top is that it fits true to size. I took my regular size 2 which was just right. Last year J. Crew's tops seemed to run really big, either that or I've gotten bigger over the last year. I bought a few 0 and even a 00 last season in button downs, but this year I am consistently a size 2.
