Totally Seersucker

I feel like today's ensemble is a bit of a throwback to the 80's with the neon and all. I wasn't sold at first on the J. Crew T-shirt with the French expression Soleil Toute L'annee emblazoned on it. (According to the French translators at J. Crew this equates to "Sun All Year" so I'll take their word on it.) Although not a fan at first, when the T hit the sale rack I began to see the possibilities of its unique graphic design and pretty neon hues. Made of a rather sheer linen, this shirt will pair well with a variety of skirts and shorts allowing one to wear it throughout the summer in endless combinations.

Today the combination I came up with for its debut in the sun was a seersucker pencil skirt, also from J. Crew. I like that this skirt has a ribbon of neon pink at the top which eliminated the need for a belt. Plus, the neon ties into the colors of the top. Très chic, no?

In my husband's endless joking and commentary on my wardrobe selection he asked me if I was going to wear any leg warmers with my outfit due to its vaguely 80s aesthetic. Legwarmers? It's way too hot for those!

Totally J.Crew Outfit (Literally from head to toe): Shirt: linen Soleil tee, Skirt: no.2 pencil skirt in neon- piped seersucker, Bag: "Factory" Vero clutch

  1. I kind of love seersucker - stripes (!) and a material that is meant to be wrinkly, what could be better?! I kind of want a tailored seersucker suit - but what the heck would I ever wear that to?!
