It's no secret that I enjoy getting all decked out for the holidays! So, when I styled this tiered tartan skirt, I thought, "why not pair it with a tartan headband, a big gold necklace and glittery gold shoes?" As if this wasn't enough, on my way out of the house, I saw my leopard coat and threw it into the mix along with everything else. The fact that it was warm and in the 70s on this particular day didn't factor largely into my decision making but I guess you can never have too much this time of the year when it comes to holiday dressing! All in all, I really love the layers in this look and how it turned out, even if it was a little hot.
I actually ordered this plaid skirt in the wrong size but, luckily, it worked out for the best. Normally, I am very careful and check over my order before I place it but, on this particular occasion, I was in a rush and I didn't see that I had accidentally ordered this skirt in a petite size! If you didn't already know, I'm on the taller side (I'm 5'10"), so I'm definitely not petite! Because J. Crew would not allow me to cancel the order, even though I caught the mistake within 5 minutes of placing the order, I just decided to hope for the best, especially because it was an item that couldn't be returned. Luckily, the skirt fit perfectly and, to be honest, I sort of like the fact that it's a little shorter than it's supposed to be. So, just like making the last minute decision to pair this skirt with leopard, all in all it worked out in the end!
