Just a Little More Plaid!
I did a poll on my Instagram Stories the day after Christmas that asked how many people were sick of plaid. I asked that question because I know some people are already ripping down their Christmas decorations after having them up for a month or more, so I thought people might also be sick of plaid. As it turns out, the vast majority of people love plaid and are excited to wear it at least another week until the New Year. As a result, I feel that it's safe to do another plaid post featuring one of my favorite outfits of the season. The outfit is something old from J. Crew, which is this paper bag plaid skirt and something new, which is this very versatile striped tissue turtleneck top. While the skirt is no longer available, below are some other green plaid options that I love!

I feel that, among the skirt, which is from years ago, the bow belt, and the pattern mixing of stripes and plaid, this could easily be a "blogger outfit" from about a decade ago! The thing is, plaid never goes out of style, and I think pattern mixing is here to stay, at least for a little while, so the outfit still feels fresh. I also added another holiday staple to the look: velvet shoes! I love all the combined elements of bows, plaid, greens, reds, and a little velvet for the perfect holiday look! It certainly was a hit at the grocery store, which is where I wore it to do some last minute shopping for the holidays!

Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas! I can't believe that Christmas is already here! Over the last few days I have been busy wrapping gifts, baking cookies and getting ready to entertain family for the holidays. I am sure most of you can relate to the hectic frenzy that comes with the Christmas season! In the midst of all of the preparations for Christmas, I found a little time to squeeze in a visit to one of my favorite Christmas trees, which is the Christmas tree at Pasadena City Hall. I wore this Christmas plaid suit that I just got the other week at J. Crew for the occasion. I love the plaid blazer and the matching plaid pants combined for a Christmas power suit! It's so festive for the holidays and if it wasn't going to be 80 degrees today (sorry for those of you who are facing very frigid temperatures right now!) I would probably wear it for Christmas dinner!
I wish that plaid season would last a little longer than just the month of December, but I've really tried to fit in all the plaid I can in the last couple of weeks or so. Given all of the plaid items I have in my wardrobe, I should really just wear plaid all December long! For those of you who are also plaid lovers, now is the time to stock up, as the sales are amazing on many holiday items including anything plaid! I was lucky to score a few other plaid pieces on major sale at J. Crew. Most likely they will probably be saved for next holiday season.

Bejeweled for the Holidays
With Christmas right around the corner, it's definitely time to break out all of my holiday clothing! While I am currently caught up with preparing for Christmas, it will also be the New Year soon as well, so it's fun to find sparkling clothing for that holiday! One skirt that is perfect for both Christmas and the New Year is this gold mini skirt from J. Crew Factory! I have this paper bag waist skirt in other styles, and I absolutely adore it, because it's such a cute, easy to throw on piece that goes with just about anything!
Another fun and festive item that I have added to my wardrobe recently that works for both Christmas and the New Year are these green satin bow shoes! I love the festive, green color and how they complement so much of my holiday season wardrobe! I thought these shoes added a fun pop of color to this black and gold skirt, and my jeweled-tone cashmere sweater was the topping on the tree, so to speak!

Pink and Green for the Holidays
I'm back today in more pink plaid! This time I'm wearing a plaid button down shirt from J. Crew. As I stated in my previous post featuring the pants in this plaid print, I love it when there is a little twist in the colors featured in a holiday plaid print, especially when that color is pink! Today I'm styling this plaid button down with some green velvet pants, known as the "Kate Pant" by J. Crew. I really love this style of pant because the fit is great and very true to size, at least in the velvet version. I have my eye on the matching blazer in the same green velvet, but it has yet to go on sale.
I'm playing up the pink in this plaid print with my pink bag and these suede pink loafers. I love the color combo of pink and green, as it's one of my favorite color pairings to wear. I usually wear it in the spring and summer but it clearly can be worn throughout the year with the right fabrics, such as plaid and velvet. I think this is going to shape up to be a very pink and
colorful Christmas, at least in terms of my wardrobe!

Purple and Gold
I feel like this Eva Franco maxi skirt could easily be mistaken for a Van Gogh because it is indeed a work of art! This skirt is another one of my Black Friday purchases from this year and it's perfect for the holidays because of hints of gold woven into the fabric of this lovely abstract floral print! As you can see, due to the print and the voluminous nature of the skirt, it definitely makes a statement! I paired the skirt with a lilac cashmere sweater and a pair of saffron suede kitten heels from Alley shoes to complete the look.
Speaking of the shoes, I have really gotten a lot of use out of these Ally kitten heels since being gifted them last month! I can certainly say with confidence that they are my most comfortable pair of heels and the color goes with just about everything in my wardrobe! You can save $40 on your first pair of heels with Ally with code Hellokatie40 at checkout. You can also save 10% on Ally flats by using code Katiegirl10 at checkout. Pink Plaid
Now that it's December, plaid season is in full swing! I love all types of plaid, but my favorite is probably anything that has pink in it! I love pink plaid because it's festive for the holidays, but it's also bright and colorful! So, when I saw that J. Crew came out with a pink plaid print this year, I naturally had to get both the pants that I'm wearing in today's post and also the button down slim shirt. (I also might have to spring for the matching blazer as well!) I love that these pink plaid pants can be paired with fun shades of pink, like my pink cashmere sweater here, and pastel colors, like my mint crossbody bag!
I have not posted that many J. Crew outfits on my blog over the last year or so,
because I haven't been that excited about the brand and what they've
offered over the last few seasons. However, this month, they have really hit it
out of the park with fun, colorful clothing in sumptuous fabrics, such as velvet, sequins and satin. Because of this, I went all out on Black Friday and Cyber Monday and bought quite a few items I love. Thus, you will be seeing many
more J. Crew looks in the upcoming weeks! Speaking of old vs. new J. Crew, these pink satin shoes represent J. Crew from a few years ago. I love them so much and I thought they would be the perfect complement to the pink plaid. Plus, they have bows for the holidays, so they are also very festive!
