Red, White and Blue

Happy Fourth of July! I love to celebrate American Independence Day with fireworks, BBQ and, of course, a patriotic red, white and blue outfit! This red and white wrap skirt is something I purchased last month and saved for the Fourth of July, but you really could wear it all summer long...I certainly plan to! I also purchased the matching red and white striped top, which makes the skirt look more like a dress, but I decided to save the top for another occasion. I thought the skirt would be more festive paired with a blue tee shirt instead. I also think my shoes, which are from many season ago, look a little bit like fireworks bursting in the air, thus the whole look is inspired by the Fourth of July from head to toe!

Not only is my outfit red, white and blue but, obviously, so is this mural in back of me! This mural is located at an art college in Pasadena and they have several murals that I occasionally use for photos. Clearly, this abstract mural was the obvious choice for a backdrop for this particular patriotic look. As always, I am dressed to match both the holiday and my location! Now, bring on the BBQ and the fireworks!

  1. You look adorable! The bold striped skirt -- and, as you noted, fireworks shoes -- are just what the Fourth calls for. That awesome mural is the icing on the flag cake! :)
