Two Way Tuesday: J. Crew Wide Leg Pants

To be perfectly honest, I'm surprised that I've been able to keep up with this idea of doing a "Two Way Tuesday" post for the last few weeks! I am, however, starting to play a little fast and loose with the rules I originally established for this series. For example, in this post, I'm not restyling the exact same article of clothing but, rather, a pair of pants that I own in two different fabrics. (Well, rules were meant to be broken, right?) The pants I am featuring in this post are the J. Crew wide-leg crop pant and, as you will see below, I really love them!

I first purchased these pants a couple months ago in this turquoise crepe fabric. One of the things I love most about them is, obviously, the color but also the elastic waist in the back. It makes these pants very easy to wear and super comfortable! (It also means that they run a little big, just for a reference when it comes to sizing.) I wore this particular outfit to brunch and to a matinee movie in Los Feliz, as you can see by the mural below, and it was a fun look for a casual Sunday out, although the shoes make the outfit a little bit more fancy in my opinion.

For my second look, I'm wearing the same pants, however they are in a cotton Liberty floral pattern. I have this same floral print in a dress but, because I love the fabric so much, I purchased the pant version as soon as they went on sale! I will say that J. Crew has done a stunning job this spring and summer with their patterns, which is not always good for my wallet, although I do try to get things when they go on sale in most instances.

This is a look that I wore just a few days ago to a lovely lunch at a French restaurant. (One of the perks of being on summer vacation is getting to go out for lunch and the treat of having a glass of wine with said lunch!) The elastic waistband  in these pants came in handy with all the bread, butter, crepes, potato leek soup, and souffle that I ate! I guess you can see why I am so fond of this particular cut of pant, as they are not only fashionable but practical as well!
