Art Nouveau Dress

Last weekend I purchased this floral print dress at H&M and, let me just say, I am really loving H&M's collaborations lately! This one is from the brand's collaboration with William Morris and Co. I know that many of H&M's more high profile collaborations, such as the upcoming one with Moschino, get a lot of attention but I personally like the more "under the radar" partnerships. These floral prints from William Morris and Co., which was a furnishings and decorative arts company that started in the mid 19th century, has a lovely Art Nouveau or Arts and Crafts Movement vibe to it, which is fitting, given the time period in which William Morris and Co. created many of their textiles.

One of the other things that I love about the dress is that it's perfect for fall with all of the rich colors, yet it has short sleeves, so it's perfect for the very hot fall weather we are experiencing here in Los Angeles. I paired this dress with some pink and lilac accessories for a pop of color and to bring out the colors from the fabric. In the future, I can see myself wearing this dress with some boots and tights, so it truly is very versatile. I actually can't wait for "boots and tights" weather to get here because it's been in the 90s here this week! Now that Halloween has just passed, I'm seeing Christmas decorations and clothing for the season popping up everywhere but, unfortunately, it still feels like summer here!
