Citrus and Stripes

Summer break is finally here! I can honestly say that I feel like a brand new person as a result of vacation time, even though it has only been a couple days. I celebrated summer today by dressing up a bit and going out to lunch with my husband. I like to joke about being able to live the lifestyle of leisure and being like the "ladies who lunch" for two months. For my first day of leisure, I wore this wonderful Kate Spade striped skirt. I love the pastel colors and of course the stripes. Also, it definitely fits the lady who lunches aesthetic that I was aiming for today in my look!

Vacation time definitely puts a spring in my step as you can see from the picture above, much like getting some good deals. Over the last couple of weeks, I've been buying a lot of things at the J. Crew Factory Outlet, like this striped top and multi-colored statement necklace. I definitely don't need another pinstripe top or statement necklace, but they are so versatile it's hard to resist, especially at the factory outlet prices!

Perhaps my favorite recent purchase is this citrus clutch from Charming Charlie. I've actually never bought anything from that store before, but it has a world of goodies from fun earrings reminiscent of Bauble Bar (for a fraction of the price!) to quirky clutches that look like they are straight out of Kate Spade. I'm sure I'll be getting a lot of use out of this bag for future lunch engagements! So here's to lots more shopping, lunches out, and exploring the Los Angeles area in my free time!
