Down the Tubes

Because it is in the middle of the desert, I never really thought of Las Vegas as a particularly colorful place, aside from, obviously, the casino lights. Thanks to some people I follow on Instagram, however, I discovered a few amazingly colorful places for blog photos in some very unexpected places. Take, for example, this display of colorful tubes that's right outside of the Discovery Children's Museum. Located, more or less, in what's known as Old Las Vegas, this installation of colorful tubes is not only eye candy, but also a great place for a photo opportunity. Although we didn't visit the Discovery Children's Museum, we did visit the nearby Mob Museum, which is a bit more up our alley and adult oriented, although not nearly as colorful.

The outfit I wore to visit these colorful tubes is almost completely head to toe J. Crew. The necklace and corduroy pants I am wearing were purchased a few days before Christmas for a steal. When I went to check out with the aforementioned items, the sales associate told me that they would not honor the teacher/student discount as they were already 50% off the clearance price, but then she took an additional 17% off of everything I purchased. I thought this was a little holiday "wink, wink, nod, nod" cheer, but when she handed me the receipt and saw the mistake she looked very upset and verbally told me that I shouldn't have received that discount. Well, I feel like that was my just deserts for grading what seemed to be a million essays before winter break!

I hope that lady doesn't get in trouble for giving you the extra discount, but that's an awesome deal for you! :) Extra discount on top of sale prices is so nice.

Hope you are having a wonderful start to the year and the first week of 2017 is going well!
