Jumping into the New Year

On my blog, I usually celebrate the New Year by posting a New Year's Eve appropriate outfit and talking about some of my resolutions. But let's face it: I don't usually go out for New Year's Eve and I never keep my resolutions, so why bother? This year I decided to do something a little different and recap six of my favorite posts from 2016, starting with this one entitled Shirting Details in which I finally mastered the art of the blogging "Jump Shot" after more failures than I care to count. I guess this just goes to prove that "hard work" really does pay off! Enjoy the rest of my favorite posts from 2016 below and have a very Happy New Year!

Strolling Down Rainbow Row - I love this post because it reminds me of the fabulous trip my husband and I took to Charleston, South Carolina in the summertime. While I loved the history, architecture and spectacular food of this Southern city, the colorful street dubbed Rainbow Row was on the top of my list of highlights!

Attack of Giant Dots - As you will notice, the thing that all of these posts have in common is not just color, but colorful walls! This giant dot wall is one of my favorites. My husband and I really had to work to find this, but once we did it was well worth it. Now I have people on Instagram asking me directions to it, so I am happy that I am becoming somewhat of a Los Angeles wall expert!

Stairway to Heaven? - I have a list of places I want to visit in the Los Angeles area. In fact, crossing things off of this list is always one of my resolutions. I visited a number of these places last year and one of them included visiting the famous, or after our visit maybe I'll describe them as infamous, Micheltorena Stairs in Silver Lake. These photos are some of my favorites that I've taken as a blogger, but the actual stairs and surrounding area was pretty dingy and dirty, which just goes to show that everything looks better in photosmaybe even me!

The Writing on the Wall - Again, this wall was another one on my list of things to visit. Located in West Hollywood, my quest for the perfect wall allowed me and my husband to explore an area of the city that we usually never go to. West Hollywood is filled with some great shops, foods, and incredible street art and walls, so there is a lot of eye candy everywhere you look.

Pom Pom for Fall - This picture was my most successful on Instagram because it was re-posted by the lovely ladies from A Beautiful Mess on their Instagram feed. It was a little surreal to see my photo on a site that has over half a million followers and because of that it gave me a great bump in followers!

After looking at these posts from this past year, I can't wait to explore more new places in 2017!
