Bring on the Bright!

Over the last few weeks I've been wearing a lot of muted colors for the holidays and, of course, a plethora of plaid, so it feels good to get back to bold, vibrant colors and also colorful walls! I actually wore this brightly colored outfit a few weeks ago, but I saved the photos until after Christmas. I am going to miss putting away my festive plaids in a couple of weeks or so, but I am looking forward to debuting some of my more colorful sale finds from the last month too!

One of my favorite things to get during post-Christmas sales are coats. It seems that after Christmas, all of the season's sweaters, coats, jackets and holiday themed items go deeply discounted, so it's a great time to pick up stuff for the rest of the winter. I bought this awesome yellow coat from Banana Republic last year right after the holidays at a pretty deeply discounted price and it's become one of my favorite coats. You might not think that I have many opportunities to wear it in Los Angeles, but the weather in the early morning and at night can be a little chilly, so I wear them more than you might think.

Yesterday I hit up some of the after Christmas sales, but I only ended up purchasing a few ornaments from Anthropologie. While I didn't get any coats this year, I am tempted by some of the ones from J. Crew that come in an array of vibrant colors. I've linked to a few of my favorites in this post that are now deeply discounted. At this point, I have a purple, yellow, pink and red coats, but I sort of want to add a green one to my rainbow collection of outerwear.  I'm going to try to refrain, however, but I can't make any promises! I really should live somewhere with cold weather so I could justify my coat addiction!

  1. I live somewhere with cold weather and it is still hard to wear gorgeous bright coats like this because with snow, slush and salt on the roads everything gets dirty immediately. Plus there are no lovely heels like you are wearing here. No pretty suede or fabric boots either. Tough leather or regular snow boots that can be wiped to get the salt stains off are necessary. It isn't pretty!

I would gladly exchange my closet of coats for warmer weather year round.

I adore this look on you. So bright, so eclectic! Gorgeous!

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas!

    bisous

    1. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas Suzanne! I grew up in Upstate New York, so I know all about the mess that the snow makes. I'm definitely spoiled now that I live in California! I'll try to send a little warm weather your way!
