Photorealism

Prints and patterns that look like photographs and are inspired by the artistic movement of photorealism seem to be popular as of late. Since I am always up for a fun print and on the lookout for something that is different than what's already hanging up in my closet, this Florence skirt from Boden attracted me with it's photorealistic interpretation of a seaside town. I am pretty sure that the city shown on the skirt is not Florence; it rather looks like a location somewhere on the coast of Britain, but who cares? Actually, the question of: "Where is that supposed to be?" came up repeatedly today as people took a close look at my skirt. I always love skirts that are conversation pieces!

Just a couple words about the fit of this skirt. As I wrote about in a previous post, I have been using the fit predictor option on websites such as Boden. In my opinion these are not always accurate and seem to err on the side of caution. For example, the website recommended this skirt in a size 6. I purchased this skirt, in a different print, in the size 6 and found it a little big with the elastic band. The second time around with this print I sized down to a 4 and found it was a much better length and overall fit, but that's just my two cents!

    1. Yes, I wanted to get this tee in red stripe as well as the blue, but they didn't have my size. I love the cut of the tee, not to mention the price!
