For Mother's Day, our family had a tea party "extravaganza". While I do have a dainty dress with tea cups on it, I thought I would go another route with this striped dress from LOFT that I guess you could say is sort of "Mad Hatter" inspired. While I did receive lots of complements on the dress, the male members of the family all made jokes in the vein of "when are you getting out of jail?". (Now I know where my husband gets his "keen" sense of humor about my fashion from.) Anyway, I played up the boldness of the black and white stripes not with handcuffs or a ball and chain, but bright neon accessories and floral shoes instead. Being Mother's Day and all, you have to have something on that's floral!
Below you will find a few glimpses at the tea sandwiches that I made. Tea sandwiches are so fun to create and very easy to make. Now I want to have tea and tea sandwiches every Sunday! I made two types of sandwiches:
turkey tea sandwiches and
smoked salmon tea sandwiches. Both recipes are from Ina Garten and both are delicious!
