Hello Katie Girl: Post Turkey Day

Thanksgiving came and went in a flash this year. As for the holiday feast, I was in charge of the mashed potatoes (I'm the queen of all things carb related) and that was it. In some ways it was nice not doing all the cooking for the big meal, although there is something about shopping for ingredients, prepping and cooking that helps to get you in the holiday spirit. I did, however, end up being somewhat of a "coach" in the kitchen for the family friend who decided to take on the bulk of the cooking for this year's dinner.

In terms of wardrobe, I reached way back into my closet and selected this shift dress from Anthropologie. It is quite hot here so the short sleeve silhouette was just perfect for the weather and I thought the color palette would also be just right for Thanksgiving. Finding such treasures in my wardrobe makes me think that it would be best to forgo the ritual of Black Friday shopping, which I always love. I think the mall can do without me this year.
