Wild Scallops

I would describe the LOFT Scalloped Colorblock Shift dress as such: It's a little mod due to the shift silhouette and black and white colorblocking, but it's also a little quirky because of the scallop detailing. In fact, it reminds be of something that Moschino would put in one of their collections. Whatever inspiration you see in the dress, one thing is for sure, it's super cute!

The sizing of this dress was a little tricky for me, as my store only had a size 4 on hand. I was hoping to try a size down for comparison's sake, but the dress was sold out pretty much everywhere in size 2. Shift dresses are always hard for me to figure out because they are supposed to be a little boxy, but at the same time you don't want to look like you're wearing a tent. I figured a belt was the perfect solution to this dilema as it cinches the waist just enough to give some definition.

I thought this dress would be a great basic to style up in numerous ways. Today I made it a little wild and paired my scallops with this snowcat print shirt from J. Crew.

Speaking of wild, William hasn't been featured very much lately on my blog. We are twins today clad in our black, white and red. He was excited that he could identify with me today, so we are doing our trademark happy dance. Plus it's almost the weekend, which is all the more reason to celebrate!

  3. Thanks! I just started wearing more layered looks like a collard shirt under a dress etc. It really allows you to create different ensembles and restyle things!
