Hello Katie Girl: Winter-ish

I just heard the phrase "Arctic blast" on the local news, as in "there is an Arctic blast coming our way!" In case you didn't know, I live in Southern California and I don't think we've ever seen an Arctic blast in the history of this region. To give you a feel for the weather here, it's in the low 60s although in all fairness it does drop into the 30s during the nighttime hours. Regardless, I don't think this is exactly blizzard weather. I ran into several people today complaining about the frigid weather, which made me realize just how relative everything is. I grew up in upstate New York where sometimes the windchill made it too cold to legally go to school. Trust me, I know what cold is.

In anticipation of the "Arctic front" I did bundle up a bit. I bought this Swiss Dot sweater from the J. Crew Factory this summer. It sold out quickly, much to the puzzlement of the Factory sales associate who told me that he couldn't figure out why so many people wanted the sweater. Maybe it was the paparazzi photo of Katie Holmes wearing the original J. Crew version or maybe people just love Swiss Dots. Anyway, this outfit was the perfect way to face the cold and I even was so warm that I had the air conditioner on for a short while at work!
