Cars, Sequins and Ruffles

There are certain things that my husband and I do not agree on aesthetically speaking. The Prada car clutch is not one of them. Since my husband loves cars and I love Prada, the combination ended up as a match made in heaven. Both of us especially love the fact that the car featured on the clutch looks as if it is straight out of the 1930s.  The bag is from Prada's Spring/Summer line of last year which was supposed to be reminiscent of the 1950's, however this was the only car bag from the line that was not from that decade. Between the metal grill which serves as the clasp of this bag and the stitched applique car, this is one of my favorite pieces from Prada and certainly a work of art in my opinion.

Last night we went "out on the town" to a nice dinner so I dressed it up a little and paired my clutch with the J. Crew collection sequin tweed  pencil skirt and a ruffly blouse from Ralph Lauren. I thought the sparkle of the sequins matched nicely with the metallic silver leather of my clutch. It makes me feel shinny and new just like a classy car driven right off the lot!

  3. Like Laura, I'd never seen the clutch before. It reminds me of the Kate Spade car clutch, although this one is far more unique! I'd love to play in your closet, sometime. You seem to have such fun pieces!
