William's Birthday and Dog Yoga

Today is William's 8th Birthday! I kind of feel like a bad dog mom because usually I get him a couple of toys and treats to unwrap on his special day but in the chaos of everything going on right now, I didn't get around to it. To be honest, I think the thing William enjoys more than anything is having us around, so the best gift he could get is probably the fact that we'll be quarantined inside of our house for at least a few weeks! If anyone is benefiting from the Coronavirus outbreak, it is most certainly our dogs! Another thing William loves is walks but since we've been having mostly nonstop rain here for days, he hasn't had many lately. Luckily, yesterday the rain stopped and the sun came out for a while, so I seized the opportunity to put on my new dog yoga tee and sneakers so we could take William for a nice walk. The fresh air was very much needed by all of us and a good reminder to try to get out in nature, even if we can't be out in public!

I think this dog yoga tee is perfect for not only William's birthday, since he is, after all, a dog (although he doesn't know how to do yoga!) but also as a reminder to just take a deep breath during these difficult times. I know that it is easier said than done but, just like what happened the day of our walk, at some point the storm clouds will break and the sun will come out and we will get back to normal. Who knows when that will be but for now, I am just going to enjoy spending time with my dog, my husband and the little things in life like walks in the park! If dogs can love the simple things like spending time with loved ones and going for walks to the park, why can't we?

A Bright Idea for Christmas!

Merry Christmas from me and William! Every year we have the holiday tradition of taking a few festive photos together. For those of you who have dogs, especially larger dogs, you might already know how difficult it is to take photos with your furry best friend. Adding some sort of costume, like these Christmas light headbands, only makes the process all the more difficult! So, while taking these Christmas photos seemed like a bright idea at first, after about 15 minutes we all felt like throwing in the towel!

Despite the effort that goes into these photos, we were lucky to get a few good ones! Also, I always love looking back at them and fondly remembering past Christmases and even the struggles that went into each photo! So, no matter what you are doing with family, friends, or even fur babies, I hope you have a Merry Christmas! While things might not always go as smoothly as you would like (as was the case with these photos and, to be honest, some of our other holiday plans), what matters most is time spent with loved ones and the memories that you'll make. As a side note, I think William deserves an extra treat in his stocking from Santa for putting up with his mommy taking so many pictures of him! He is after all, a very good boy.
