I thought this lemon dress would be the perfect frock to stroll through the gardens and to enjoy the cool breeze that rolls in from the ocean. Speaking of which, another great reason to visit the museum is that the weather is cool and comfortable, with just a slight breeze due to the fact that the Getty Villa overlooks the Pacific Ocean. It was definitely a welcome change from the scorching heat we have been experiencing inland. I can see why many of the wealthy Romans would build their vacation villas on the coast and why J. Paul Getty chose to do the same. After spending the day at the Getty Villa, I decided that I wouldn't mind moving in or building my own villa nearby but, unfortunately, I'm not a wealthy Roman from ancient times or a 20th century oil tycoon. Still, it was nice to feel like one for a day!

Minty Lemons at the Getty Villa
This weekend, I was able to check one more thing off of my things to do in Los Angeles bucket list, which was a visit to the Getty Villa near Malibu. The Getty Villa houses J. Paul Getty's rather extensive collection of Greek and Roman antiquities (over 44,000 artifacts to be exact!) in a stunning recreation of a historical Roman villa. Although the museum originally opened in 1974, I truly felt like I had traveled back in time two millennia, especially while strolling the gardens of the villa that feature plants native to the Mediterranean that were known to be cultivated by the ancient Romans. Speaking of plants and horticulture, one thing I discovered during my visit to the museum was the land on which the museum was built used to be a lemon grove. It was quite fitting that I chose to wear this minty lemon maxi dress for my visit!

The combination of mint and lemon looks so novel, the skirt is particularly beautiful, and the person is also very beautiful. The background of the photo is very well chosen, which makes people look full of vitality.
